V.M.Iyer of Kaveripattinam ( Nagpur shri V.Mutuswamy – smt Padma)

By C.R.Natarajan

V.Muthuswamy Iyer [s/o M.Vaidyanatha Iyer] is from Kavaripattinam. CRN mama accompanied his brother in law (SNP Subramani Iyer) and Padma when she was joining her husband in Nagpur. During the entire journey Subramani Iyer did not sleep as he was worried about pickpockets and rail thieves.

"V Muthuswamy Iyer was a very soft spoken person, but I think he was all steel inside!I am not saying this in a pejoraive manner but in admiration. We all use speech to conceal as well as to reveal, both conditioned by our assessment of how much to say or not to say. I have greater admiration for men like VM Iyer, who did not have to use speech to express or to conceal. Like fish, his diksha was by look. You may know that Hindu ethos talks about four kinds of Dikshas or method of communication, viz. speech VAK, look NAYANAM, touch SPARSAM, telepathy and VM Iyer let his views be known by Look [nayanam] and telepathy!"
